Finance Intern

Our Team is based out of our office in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we work in-office Monday through Thursday each week, and remotely on Fridays. Team members must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

*This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) for a period of one year*

The Finance intern will learn the broader corporate strategy and operations; particularly how strategic decisions are implemented within a company. The intern will support the management team by analyzing the market structure, evaluating growth opportunities across North America, EMEA, and APAC regions, and exploring market trends such as fresh pet food and direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels. This will involve deep-dive research and collaboration with corporate teams to understand how strategy is created and operationalized within a corporate setting.

What You’ll Accomplish

- Learn about the internal corporate decision-making processes works and focus on real-time business operations.

- Conduct a comprehensive market analysis on market trends in pet food (i.e., the fresh food segment), and assist in evaluating channel development strategies (i.e., D2C).

- Collaborate with the strategy and commercial teams to explore corporate growth opportunities.

-Provide insights from a consulting perspective while learning how such strategies are shaped by internal business realities.

- Implement strategic initiatives and take a more active role in shaping and executing the business strategy.

-Work closely with senior management and engage in key discussions around customer acquisition and retention strategies.

-Collaborate with the commercial teams to explore how new product lines and services align with the company’s long-term strategic plan.

-Learn how corporate decisions are executed and what challenges arise when operating strategic plans.

- Develop strategic recommendations for market expansion, focusing on the growth of new channels.

- Develop and present actionable insights on product and channel growth opportunities.

- Collaborate closely with the commercial teams to analyze strategic decisions regarding customer acquisitions and channel development.

In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who has a:

• Master’s degree (completed or in progress) required in Data science, Economics, Finance, Math, or Statistics
• Ability to create and run financial and business models, for financial planning, analysis and forecasting
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic data entry tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• This is FULL-TIME, 40 hour a week internship

The hourly salary range for this position is $31.25 to $33.65, anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational equity. Compensation may vary within that pay range depending on the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The full compensation details will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
