About the Role: Director of Housekeeping

As our Director of Housekeeping you will play an integral role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leadership & Ownership

  • Drive departmental performance through strategic planning, forecasting, and execution
  • Lead with an entrepreneurial mindset, taking full ownership of cleanliness standards, labor efficiency, and guest satisfaction outcomes
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, engaged housekeeping team aligned with company culture
  • Partner with Rooms Division leadership to align on operational goals and service delivery

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee all housekeeping operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to brand standards
  • Manage labor, budgets, inventory, and cost controls to meet financial targets
  • Implement systems, processes, and training that drive consistency and operational excellence
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across housekeeping and laundry operations

Guest Experience

  • Champion a culture of service excellence with a passion for hospitality
  • Ensure all guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet or exceed cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency and a solutions-first mindset
  • Create memorable, detail-driven experiences that elevate guest satisfaction scores

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage teams to deliver seamless operations
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and team members to align priorities and expectations
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team environment

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop housekeeping leaders and employees
  • Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and recognition
  • Drive engagement, retention, and succession planning within the department
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and cleanliness protocols
  • Maintain accuracy in reporting, inspections, and documentation
  • Uphold OSHA standards, chemical handling procedures, and overall workplace safety

Requirements

Leadership Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in housekeeping or rooms division within hospitality
  • Strong ability to drive performance, accountability, and team engagement
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and departmental goals
  • Ability to lead through change, openings, or operational transitions

Technical Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, laundry processes, and inventory control
  • Experience with property management systems; Opera PMS preferred
  • Familiarity with housekeeping systems (e.g., room tracking/inspection tools)
  • Strong understanding of cleanliness standards, inspections, and quality assurance programs

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Union Environment - Experience preferred
  • Spanish-speaking preferred
