Finance Manager POST NUMBER: 474542
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial reporting, fund operations, and cash management activities. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial statements, strong controls, and effective coordination with internal teams and external partners, particularly within an investment or fund-based environment. This is a hybrid position in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including daily cash activity, reconciliations, and cash forecasting
- Support financial oversight for private debt funds, including coordination with fund administrators and external service providers
- Review fund-level accounting, capital activity, and financial reporting deliverables for accuracy and timeliness
- Partner with fund administration, audit, tax, and compliance teams to support reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies across financial processes
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide clear insights to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to accounting standards, policies, and best practices
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within asset management, investment management, or fund-based environments
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience supporting private debt funds, fund accounting, or fund administration strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with cash management, reconciliations, and financial close processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
- Proficiency with financial systems and Excel; experience with fund accounting platforms a plus
