About the Role
Alumni Ventures operates a scaled, technology-enabled venture platform rather than a traditional VC model. Our engineering team builds and operates the systems that power investment tracking, portfolio analytics, and new financial products. The team is small and fast moving, and engineers own problems end to end with direct visibility into how their work is used by investors and founders. You will work across the stack, from APIs and data pipelines to investor-facing UI, while building mission-driven tools that support real investments in innovative startups. This role will be in office T/W/Th.

What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and ship features across the platform, including investor dashboards and internal workflow automation.
- Solve complex problems in data modeling, system design, API development, and third-party integrations, with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining full accountability for code comprehension, quality, and security.
- Contribute to a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
- Experienced engineer. You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or a Bachelor’s plus 2 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong CS fundamentals. You have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases, and how to apply them to real-world problems.
- Fluent coder. You’re proficient in Python and/or JavaScript (both is a plus; mastery of at least one is required). You care about code quality, readability, and maintainability.
- AI-augmented developer. You Leverage AI to increase velocity while critically reviewing and improving generated code.
- Self Directed: Proactive in identifying problems, proposing solutions, and driving them to completion.
- Adaptable : Comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by hard problems and building from the ground up.
