Controller
Kforce's client, a neighborhood healthcare organization in the Greater Boston area, is seeking a Controller to join its finance leadership team. Reporting to the CFO, this position will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, grant administration, and finance systems initiatives for a complex, mission-driven organization. Summary: This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial operations, managing audits and month-end close, supporting strategic planning, overseeing grant compliance, and helping drive financial modernization through technology, reporting tools, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Manage audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Direct grant accounting, reporting, and funding compliance activities
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives
- Support ERP, reporting, analytics, and process improvement projects
- Develop and mentor accounting and finance staff
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred; advanced degree a plus
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Experience with grants, audits, internal controls, and financial systems
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel, and financial reporting tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skills
- Healthcare, nonprofit, government-funded, or grant-driven organization experience preferred
