Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher serving elementary school students in grades 2 and 4. The role involves supporting a caseload of 12 to 14 students through a combination of push-in and pullout instruction within the specialized classroom setting as specified in each students Individualized Education Program (IEP). Instructional formats will include one-on-one support and small group sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored special education instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in grades 2 and 4
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement push-in support strategies
- Provide pullout services according to IEP requirements
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes aligned with individualized goals
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Knowledgeable in push-in and pullout instructional models
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
Location and Schedule:
- Position is based in Cambridge, MA
- Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Contract dates: Immediate start through May 8th, with possibility of extension for the remainder of the school year
