Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Night Shift – 3 x 12.5-hour shifts (37.5 hours/week)

Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Requirement: Rotation Required

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This role is ideal for a highly skilled RN who thrives in high-acuity environments and can deliver exceptional patient care under pressure.

The ER RN will provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with acute and critical conditions
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
• Develop and update individualized patient care plans
• Communicate effectively with physicians and care teams regarding patient status
• Deliver emergency interventions and support during critical situations
• Perform IV administration and IV starts with proficiency
• Monitor telemetry and identify abnormal cardiac rhythms
• Assist in ventilator management and care of critically ill patients
• Serve as charge or resource nurse when required
• Support staff education, onboarding, and training initiatives
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing education programs
• Maintain patient confidentiality and high standards of care
• Provide compassionate communication with patients and families

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of travel ER nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – Massachusetts
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification
• Successful completion of pharmacology and arrhythmia exams
• Strong clinical skills in:
  • IV therapy and IV starts
  • Ventilator care
  • Telemetry monitoring
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Certification
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification
• De-escalation training/certification
• Experience in high-volume emergency departments
• Leadership experience, including charge nurse responsibilities

Certifications & Licensure

• Active Massachusetts RN License (Required)
• BLS & ACLS Certifications (Required)
• TNCC, ENPC, PALS (Preferred)
