Rita’s Catering is a premier catering and event services provider in the Greater Boston area. Known for our exceptional food, hospitality, and service, we support a wide range of events from intimate gatherings to large corporate functions. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join our growing team and help strengthen our financial operations.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Manager will oversee the billing and collections process for catering contracts, events, and recurring customers. This role ensures invoices are accurate, payments are collected on time, and client accounts are properly maintained. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in working within a service-driven business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment posting, collections, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and issue invoices for catering orders, contracts, and events in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on past-due balances while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Work closely with the Sales and Events team to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth financial processes.
- Maintain accurate records of payments, deposits, and client accounts.
- Generate weekly and monthly AR reports, including aging schedules and cash flow forecasts.
- Implement and improve AR policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with the Finance team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to AR staff (if applicable).
- Work closely with our CFO on projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (relevant experience will be considered).
- 3–5+ years of accounts receivable or billing experience, ideally in catering, hospitality, or service-based industries.
- Strong understanding of invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with catering/event management systems a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Customer-focused approach with professionalism when handling billing inquiries.
- Knowledge in QuickBooks (Mandatory)

- Daily – post all A/R credit card payments from prior day’s business
- Daily – determine which accounts need review
- Daily – Investigate accounts past 30 days
- Daily – File documents a
- Daily posting of payment to accounting program
- Weekly –Review A/R aging to determine action plan where appropriate
- Work closely with QuickBooks
