Software Solutions Engineering Lead

: : Duck Creek Technologies LLC seeks a Software Solutions Engineering Lead (Sr. Manager Level) based out of our U.S. headquarters in Boston, MA; however, this is a Remote First (telecommuting/work-from-home) position whereby the employee may reside anywhere within the U.S. Note, this position requires travel up to 25% of the time. The Software Solutions Engineer Lead will lead the project engineering team responsible for defining and reviewing the technical requirements for the Duck Creek application, including security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. S/he will serve as the primary point of contact for engineering and customization issues for both the Customer and the internal project team. S/he is recognized by the project team and customer as the expert on the product and project. S/he serves as the point of escalation for engineering related activities, and is the escalation point for the Customer. S/he may be expected to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously. Key job responsibilities include:

• Lead team that is responsible for manageable deliveries, including design, development, testing, end-to-end installation and deployment.
• Design, code, and/or configure solutions for moderate to high complexity Agile stories independently and across multiple domain or platform areas.
• Facilitate automation of tests and work with quality assurance team to sign off on delivered tasks.
• Debug and resolve high complexity software bugs or issues working independently, identifying the root cause and providing a fix without collateral damage.
• Create a conceptual design/architecture for medium scale and high complexity software solutions with an architect.
• Follow development standards and effectively demonstrate technical solutions to other developers in code reviews.
• Assist in making source code management decisions.
• Perform source code management tasks without specific guidance required from other team members.
• Develop understanding of the domain, Duck Creek products and various features/configuration capabilities.
• Develop understanding of how clients have configured and utilize Duck Creek products to help leverage the knowledge for future development and testing purposes.
• Serves as the product and project expert and the primary point of contact for engineering and customization issues
• Serves as a primary point of escalation for project team and customer, engaging leadership only when necessary.
• Works across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The position of Software Solutions Engineering Lead (Sr. Manager Level) requires a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Applications, Computer Science, IT, Electronic(s) Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or a closely-related IT/Computer field. The position requires 12 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related software development position. Additionally, the applicant must have the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following: 1. 12 years: Conducting software development and/or architecting activities; 2. 8 years: ASP.Net, C#, Visual Studio, SQL, Microsoft Foundation technologies, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, HTML, CSS, and AJAX; 3. 8 years: Using P&C Insurance software applications; & 4. 8 years: Insurance systems integration (Policy, Billing, Claims, third-party systems).
