Practical Nursing Faculty - Full time (evening program)
(DO NOT APPLY THROUGH SCHOOL SPRING) - Apply via directions below: Submit a resume, cover letter, DESE certification via email to [email protected] Nursing Faculty Full time (Evening Program)This full-time position, following the school calendar, requires implementation of a practical nursing program curriculum, the instruction of adult students in the classroom, clinical skills lab, and clinical setting, in accordance with the program philosophy, mission statement and student learning outcomes, while adhering to Practical Nursing program policies, procedures and schedule. The full-time faculty report directly to the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator. Full time faculty are required to work on Saturday and Sundays (days or evenings) and day/evening hours as scheduled. The ability to adapt and implement change is crucial.Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Using the program philosophy, mission statement, program framework, student learning outcomes and program outcomes: organize, plan, implement the curriculum, and evaluate assigned nursing courses in partnership with the other nursing faculty.2.Provide input in the development of policies and procedures for the Practical Nursing Program.3.Assist in and be responsible for evaluating program effectiveness according to the program Systematic Plan of Evaluation.4.Demonstrate high-level skills in intra-professional and inter-professional collaboration, teamwork, and communication.5.Participate in developing contractual agreements with selected clinical agencies.6.Adhere to clinical agency policies and/or contractual agreements regarding student and faculty practice.7.Use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings as well as all domains of learning.8.Complete faculty orientation and acts as a mentor to faculty in all areas of the curriculum plan.9.Schedule and assist in all areas of the Practical Nursing Curriculum.10.Participates in at least one committee within the governing organization and submits attendance to PN Coordinator.11.Participate in Department and Advisory Board Meeting as a member of the faculty committee.12.Carry out school and program policies as directed by administration and/or the Practical Nursing Coordinator.13.Counsels and advises students regarding academic and/or clinical progress by providing thoughtful, timely and constructive feedback.
Assists faculty in counseling and advising students.14.Maintains inventory for nursing skills laboratory and classroom equipment/supplies.15.Completes and maintain clinical schedule for assigned students.16.Collects and audits clinical attendance records and collaboration with Administrative Secretary.17.Participates in Accreditation and MABORN compliance, and regulatory requirements.18.Supervise assigned student clinical experiences and assist with plans for rotation of students through clinical experiences.19.Engage in the scholarship of nursing and teaching through professional development, maintaining clinical expertise, and maintaining professional memberships that promote nursing education.20.Creates and maintains a collegial environment.21.Create and maintain community and clinical partnerships that support the educational goals of the Practical Nursing Program.22.Provide input in the preparation of the program budget.23.Maintains a faculty clinical, lab and course workload as assigned per term. 24.Accept program responsibilities consistent with preparation and work hours as assigned by the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator.25.Acts as designee for the Practical Nursing Coordinator.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1.Faculty appointed to a Practical Nursing program shall possess an earned baccalaureate degree in nursing or earned graduate degree in nursing.2.Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License in good standing.3.Possess a minimum of two years full time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competency in the area of clinical instruction: 4.Possess the following academic and experiential qualifications as appropriate to the faculty member's appointment. 5.Develop and maintain competence appropriate to teaching responsibilities including, but not limited orientation and mentoring to the nurse educator role, and knowledge of M.G.L. c. 112, 74 through 81C and 244 CMR. 6.Participation in professional development in nursing education such as certification, continuing education.7.Certified by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in Practical Nursing (9-14).8.Experience in Curriculum development, use of multimedia teaching strategies, and test construction is preferred.9.Recent teaching experience preferably with adult students. 10.Understanding the commitment of Practical Nurse Education. 11.Meet health standards of clinical agencies, CPR Certification, and maintain current malpractice insurance.Compensation: 1.Based on credentials, approvals and experience, the successful candidate will be paid in accordance with the Agreement between the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School Teachers Association and the Blackstone Valley Regional School District Committee.Link to contract: other benefits provided by the Agreement apply.Recommended Jobs
