About the Position
⏰ Shift Details
- Type: Afternoons (12-hour shift)
- Timing: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
Key Responsibilities (Med Surg RN)
- Provide direct patient care for 5–6 patients per shift
- Perform assessments, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely
- Monitor telemetry & recognize dysrhythmias
- Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team
- Manage admissions, discharges, and patient education
- Respond to changes in patient condition/emergencies
- Maintain accurate charting in Meditech EMR
- Float to other Med Surg units as required
Requirements
✅ Requirements – RN Med Surg (Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield )
Mandatory (Must Have)
- 2+ years current Med Surg experience
- Telemetry experience
- Willingness to float to any Med Surg unit
- Basic Dysrhythmia course (strongly required)
- Certifications (in hand at submission):
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- Massachusetts RN License (must be active at submission — no pending)
