Position: Special Education Paraprofessional

Duration: 2025-2026 School Year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

About the Role

Braintree is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals to support there sub-sperate program at an Elementary School. This program serves students in grades K-2 and focuses on meeting the needs of the whole child. We are looking for candidates with a calm demeanor and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.

Program Focus

Instruction in the program emphasizes:

• Academic skills (core subjects and individualized instruction)

• Social skills (peer interactions, play)

• Access skills (navigating classrooms and school settings)

• Behavior skills (de-escalation, conflict resolution)

• Daily living skills (toothbrushing, handwashing, toileting)

• Readiness skills (following directions, raising hands)

• Communication skills (expressing needs, maintaining conversations)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students in classroom and school settings.

• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).

• Support students in developing academic, social, and behavioral skills.

• Help with daily living activities, including toileting when necessary.

• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Special Education and ABA preferred.

• Ability to remain calm and patient in a dynamic classroom setting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
