Licensed Professional Engineers, structural engineers - Periodic Assignments
National Forensic Consultants, Inc.® is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary forensic investigation firm. We provide expert investigative services to the legal, insurance, product manufacturing, and construction industries.
We are seeking licensed PE’s in all disciplines (mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, structural, etc.) located in Massachusetts, USA that are interested in periodic assignments as an independent contractor (1099).

Our experts provide forensic investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony where technical and scientific answers are needed to help resolve civil litigation matters, as well as insurance claims. Forensic engineering relies on scientific principles to investigate all types of failures — from minor to catastrophic. It’s our job to gather evidence, analyze, and determine why failures occurred.
Responsibilities:
· Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in the residential and commercial fields.
· Analyze the failure of building systems, determines the cause of failures, evaluates the quality of construction or reviews design or maintenance procedures.
· Perform field investigations, lead multi-party examinations and documentation of the damaged property.
· Research failure modes and code requirements as needed, prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
· Prepares reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to our clients.
· Be able to conduct investigations and clearly document your findings.
· Perform research and analysis.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must; being able to explain technical subject matters to clients in simple terms is also a plus.
· Prepare and write reports, present findings and maintain reports of investigation results.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline is required.
· Active PE is required (in the state of employment is preferred).
· 10 years experience in design in a combination of residential, commercial and industrial setting preferred.
· Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
· Ability to work in high-elevated areas, such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, balance, and resistance to acrophobia.
· Multi-state licensures is a plus.
