Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to run and maintain an automated screw machine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading raw materials, setting up the machine, and inspecting finished products before transitioning them to the next workstation. Routine maintenance, including oil and coolant changes, is a crucial part of this role.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain an automated screw machine.
• Load and unload raw materials into the machine.
• Set up the machine for operation.
• Inspect finished products before sending them to the next workstation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil and coolant changes.
• Assist with sweeping, cleaning, mopping, packing, and unpacking.
• Move raw materials and remove finished products from bins.
• Monitor the machine during operator breaks without making adjustments.

Essential Skills

• Experience with machine operation and maintenance.
• Ability to load and unload materials and perform minor mechanical tasks.
• Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical operations.
• Understanding of blueprints and general production processes.
• Troubleshooting skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete a math and mechanical aptitude test.

Work Environment

This position is in a manufacturing environment where you will work closely with an assigned Machine Operator. Emphasis is placed on safety and following the guidance provided by experienced staff.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.10/hr.
