Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a stable insurance brokerage that is looking for an Employee Benefits Account Executive in the Massachusetts territory. This client has been around for almost 150 years, is owned by a Trust, and has the reputation of being one of the Best Places to Work in its respective territories.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for obtaining new business. The Account Executive supports clients as the primary contact and provider of day-to-day service, meeting service and delivery standards for clients assigned. This position is responsible for account management from carrier & vendor application through renewal, marketing all renewals, and providing direction to Client Service Administrator and support to Producers. The Account Executive uses discretion and judgment in determining coverage needs for clients and in carrier and client negotiations.
Job Functions:
- Markets renewals on a timely basis, along with Client Service Administrator by communicating with clients and carriers during the renewal process. Communicate with Producers as needed to secure suitable competitive coverage for clients.
- Establishes working relationships with clients, carriers, and other vendors.
- Responds to client inquiries in a timely fashion by initiating changes requested, providing coverage information and documentation as needed, ensuring client requests are handled by carriers, and acting to maintain accounts in the event of a cancellation request.
- Provides support to clients concerning technology, HR, and compliance issues.
- Supports clients open enrollment meetings as requested.
- Develop and present for clients/employee base as required.
- Maintain relationships with carriers/providers while monitoring the market for new products and/or trends.
- Provides referrals to other departments.
- Work with P&C producers to expand lines of client coverage to EB.
- Negotiate renewals to achieve the best possible coverage for clients.
- Serve as a technical resource for Client Service Administrators.
- Maintain knowledge of company requirements, policy provisions, and any changes to laws as applicable.
- Participate in/direct any special projects and/or training at managements request.
- Any and all responsibilities outlined in the Professional Procedure Manual.

- Fluency in MS Office products, intermediate Excel user.
- Ability to communicate clearly, to work well with others, and to manage time effectively.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Expertise in Employee Benefits/Life Coverage and Underwriting.
- 3+ years experience with Employee Benefits coverages.
- Carrier or broker experience preferred.
- Must have Life Producers license.
