Desktop Technician
Hours: 8am-5pm, 1 hour lunch
Range: $32-35 / hr
Contract role
Job Summary:
- Provide software, hardware, and network support to internal users.
- Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with software installations and configurations, as well as participating in documenting processes related to the IT Department.
- Mid-level role responsible for more complex troubleshooting, system configuration, and supporting IT infrastructure components with moderate independence.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, and support hardware, software, and specialized applications.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and network connectivity issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory.
- Contribute to process documentation and help refine IT procedures.
- Assist in generating and analyzing IT metrics and dashboards.
- Provide guidance to Level 1 technicians and help with escalations.
- Participate in small IT projects (deployments, upgrades, rollouts).
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network components.
- Proficiency with Windows OS and Office 365 administration.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory (OU management, group membership, basic GPO understanding).
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex issues.
- 3+ Years Experience
- Medium work including moving objects up to 50lbs
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with databases, servers, or network equipment.
- Familiarity with imaging tools, ticketing systems, and remote support tools.
