Assistant Professor- Accounting & Finance

The Department of Accounting & Finance in the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning September 1, 2026.

Applications are invited from candidates specializing in Finance, with particular encouragement for those with teaching and research interests in Artificial Intelligence applied to Finance and Econometrics. Appropriate candidates will hold a doctoral degree in Finance or a closely related discipline. ABDs will be considered, but must complete their doctorate no later than August 31, 2026. The successful candidate is expected to show evidence of an active scholarly research agenda and potential for scholarship and teaching excellence in Finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels in online, hybrid, and in-person modalities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a research program leading to publications in high-quality journals, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in on-campus and online modalities, and providing service to the department, college, university, and the profession.

The College of Management is AACSB-accredited and is the only public Business School in Boston. UMass Boston expects to pay within an approximate range between $80,000 and $194,000 for this position.

The specific pay for this position will be determined by the University based on the consideration of all relevant factors when and if it decides to extend an offer of employment. Exceptional candidates may be considered for salaries above the published range to ensure competitiveness within the academic market.
