Freelance Commercial Photographer (Part-time, on-site)

Abbott & Oaks is a fine vintage jewelry house specializing in one-of-a-kind antique and estate pieces. Each piece we source is carefully restored and thoughtfully curated—our photography is not just documentation, but an essential part of how our customers experience and connect with the collection.

We are seeking a Freelance Commercial Photographer to join our team on-site in Marblehead, MA, 2-3 days per week. This role is responsible for producing elevated, consistent, and conversion-driven imagery across product, editorial, and brand channels.

What You’ll Do

• Photograph a high volume of one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces for eCommerce (rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants and charms)
• Produce clean, true-to-life product imagery that accurately represents color, scale, and detail
• Capture lifestyle and editorial content that reflects the Abbott & Oaks brand: refined, timeless, and elegant
• Collaborate closely with our cataloging/merchandising and marketing teams to support weekly product launches and campaigns
• Maintain consistency in lighting, composition, and post-production standards
• Collaborate with our external editing and retouching partner
• Contribute to ongoing refinement of our visual identity and photography standards

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in commercial, product, or eCommerce photography (jewelry or luxury goods strongly preferred)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both product precision and brand storytelling
• Expertise in lighting small, reflective objects (metal, gemstones, diamonds)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop)
• Strong attention to detail, especially color accuracy and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently within a high-volume, weekly release cadence
• Highly organized with strong file management practices
• Comfortable working on-site and collaborating with a small, fast-moving team

Nice to Have

• Experience photographing jewelry
• Familiarity with gemstone and material nuances (e.g., opals, old mine cut diamonds, gold patina)
• Interest in design, fashion, or historical objects
