Retail Lead
Overview
The Retail Lead provides inventory and resource support for the Retail Areas of Dana Farber. Performs a variety of technical activities relating to the procurement of goods, materials, supplies and equipment. Maintains effective inventory controls and systems integrity. Provides education and product knowledge to patients, families and staff. This position will also support the department with workflow and allocation of resources within the group and act as a Lead when necessary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and assists with all purchasing needs for patients, stock inventory, packaging and supplies. Maintains up-to-date vendor information and catalogs.
- Performs daily replenishment of back stock.
- Responsible for daily cash deposit for Retail area.
- Responsible for receiving of merchandise on a timely manner, and maintains compliance with fire and safety regulations.
- Performs monthly inventory audits for designated area and annual inventory for entire Retail area.
- Coordinates all new vendor orders and secures proper documentation with Purchasing and administrative support.
- Maintains the E-commerce site, including entering pertinent product information into our database, update existing product information, and write informative, captivating and fun product descriptions.
- May be required to provide back-up coverage for boutique Friends” Place operations on an urgent basis to maintain staffing levels and meet needs of the program.
- Performs monthly Accounts Payables reconciliation for Friends Place and Friends Corner Gift Shop
- Functions as a content expert/resource leader in quality improvement/process improvement initiatives and projects.
- Ensures quality care and adherence to standard operating procedures and compliance requirements.
- Oversees accurate completion of designated responsibilities and processes.
- Participates in rollouts of new initiatives and programs.
- Participates in the recruiting process (interviewing and hiring) of employees.
- Develops and leads training programs.
- Handles complex customer service and care issues.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate coverage in the absence of staff.
- May be required to lead staff meetings in the absence of management.
- Coordinates inpatient and clinic floor outreach providing support services and resource information.
- May perform end-of-day deposit and financial related issues and schedule appoints to facilitate patient related issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises technicians and other staff related to customer service issues. Assists in the training and mentoring of staff. May provide workflow direction to students and volunteers.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required. 2 years of retail experience preferred and experience with cancer patients and rehabilitation process preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Retail knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, product research.
- Must have strong human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Might be highly organized, efficient and have the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability with Word and Excel software, as well as point of sale systems helpful.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates logical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing merchandise plans for retail stores and managing inventory levels through allocation and replenishment a plus.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
