Senior Cisco/Palo Alto Network Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Palo Alto and Cisco enterprise networking . The ideal candidate will have recent experience supporting network infrastructure within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry .

This is a hands-on role responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing, switching, and network virtualization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls , including security policies, threat prevention, and VPNs.
• Administer Cisco routing and switching infrastructure across LAN/WAN environments.
• Manage VLANs and inter-VLAN routing.
• Implement and maintain VMware-based firewall and network virtualization solutions.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams on network architecture and compliance requirements.
• Maintain network documentation, configurations, and SOPs.
• Participate in network design reviews and capacity planning.

Required Skills:

• Strong enterprise network engineering experience.
• Hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Experience with VMware network virtualization / firewall solutions .
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, LAN/WAN, and inter-VLAN routing .
• CCNP or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
• Recent experience in life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments.
• Must be able to work onsite in Waltham, MA 2 days/week .
• Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder .
• Must be available for a face-to-face interview .

Preferred Skills / Certifications:

• PCNSE
• CCIE – Enterprise Infrastructure / Routing & Switching
• VMware VCP , particularly network virtualization/security
• Experience with HIPAA, GxP , or other regulated life-sciences environments.

Important Requirements:

• Local candidates who can commute to Waltham, MA .
• Hybrid - 2 days/week onsite.
• USC/GC only.
• Recent life sciences/biotech/pharmaceutical experience is strongly required.
• F2F final interview required.
• $56/hr on W2.
