Principal Product Manager

The Principal Product Manager is a player/coach responsible for product planning, product marketing, and customer engagement for their product. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products. The Product Manager (PM) works with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Responsibilities also include ensuring that product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Specifically, in this role, this Principal PM will work closely to maintain and evolve a large segment of Advisor360°’s critical data estate. Advisors require access to extensive, diverse data that defines investment products and tracks transactions and holdings across their clients to power performance accounting and analytics. Advisor360° must deliver this data in a timely and accurate fashion through advisor-and-investor-facing components of the platform. This PM will be directly responsible for ensuring this critical data continues to be an industry-leading resource for our customers and their clients.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Independently coordinates research, continuous customer discovery, and analysis to inform strategic roadmap priorities for their product area and is recognized SME in that domain.
  • Manages on-time execution, takes charge of project prioritization, collaborates with development and design teams, and ensures alignment with roadmap goals.
  • Effectively and persuasively documents, presents, and communicates product concepts such as requirements and vision readouts to all audiences, from development to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Manages and is accountable for end-to-end product and functional launches for their product area. Collaborates closely with Training, Marketing, ILs, and CS&O teams to produce and execute effective market entry strategies, ensures training materials are ready, and aligns messaging with the roadmap.
  • Prioritizes thesis-driven development by independently defining, monitoring, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative product performance metrics to iterate towards value creation. Actively participates in and drives performance and monitoring improvement initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for performance assessment.
  • Manages and engages with clients independently, being a key client SME in their product area. Works to develop and maintain a collaborative, empathetic relationship. Is mindful of client-level strategic initiatives at the executive and functional levels and strives to be seen as a proactive partner.
  • Leads cross-functional meetings and actively fosters communication among stakeholders to achieve project success and alignment of goals across teams.
  • Continuously evaluates, proposes, and assists in implementing changes to the SDLC, PDLC, and other processes by collaborating across teams and promoting adoption.
  • Actively mentors and guides reports, providing expertise and support in their growth and development within the product management domain.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 6+ years’ experience with financial services software, as either supplier or user.
  • Strong conceptual knowledge of structured data, database design, and database development, with RDBMS tools such as Microsoft SQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake is desired.
  • Candidates with a strong background in or experience with Financial Investment Data aggregation, normalization, enrichment, and reconciliation are preferred.
  • Experience in scoping and planning UI and UX requirements for products that are data-driven.
  • Experience working with product scope that crosses the boundaries of several teams, including multiple product teams and engineering teams.
  • Well-rounded understanding of the needs of financial advisors and their clients.
  • Experience in creating and iterating to a great customer experience backed by qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Ability to understand and participate in technical system design discussions.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience working directly with customers and prospects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to consistently provide a high level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and deliver successful results within a project timeline.
  • Understanding of Scrum concepts and Agile principles.
  • Ability to present, with confidence, new solutions for existing problems to colleagues and managers.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $188,000-$210,000.
