Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA 02118 – Massachusetts healthcare jobs
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (IMCU)
• Assignment Type: Contract Nursing Job
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/08/2025 – End: 12/06/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; Day/Night rotation; every other weekend and holiday required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit Details: 38 beds, patient ratio 1:3–1:5
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2270–$2330

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Surgical stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or stepdown nursing experience
• Experience with automated medication dispensing systems
• Multiple previous travel nursing assignments preferred
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Tele test and Critical Care Medication test required on day 1
• Tertiary healthcare facility experience preferred

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver intermediate care for post-operative patients from PACU or SICU, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips for cardiac patients
• Administer medications and manage automated dispensing systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital protocols
• Participate in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
