Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 483604
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis within a dynamic production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate product costing, analyzing operational performance, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update product cost structures within the ERP system to ensure accurate inventory valuation and standard costing.
- Analyze manufacturing costs by comparing actual production expenses to established standards and identifying key cost drivers.
- Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor rates, overhead allocations, and material costs to ensure cost accuracy.
- Perform variance analyses, including purchase price, production, labor, overhead, and inventory variances, and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to strengthen inventory controls and support cycle count and physical inventory programs.
- Develop and manage cost estimates for new products, engineering changes, and other strategic initiatives.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes through journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial data validation.
- Monitor general ledger activity and prepare financial analyses, including profitability and margin reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and management reporting.
- Participate in external audits, annual inventory observations, system enhancements, reporting improvements, and ad hoc financial projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing methodologies, inventory accounting, and manufacturing operations.
- Solid understanding of GAAP; exposure to IFRS is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience preferred.
- Familiarity with internal controls and compliance requirements, including SOX.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Experience with cost rollups, inventory management, and product margin analysis.
- Knowledge of audits, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
