Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

TLC Nursing
Pittsfield, MA
Answering the call to lead and nurture in Labor & Delivery as aRegistered Nurse offers a meaningful, life‑changing opportunity in Massachusetts with a base in Pittsfield. In this L&D role, your clinical precision, calm decision‑making, and compassionate communication will guide families through one of life’s most memorable journeys. You will partner with obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and support staff to deliver safe, evidence‑based care from labor admission through delivery and postpartum newborn transitions. This position invites you to deepen your expertise in obstetric assessment, fetal monitoring, pain management, emergency response, and newborn care, while embracing a culture of continuous learning and patient‑centered excellence. Beyond the labor room, you’ll see how your skills touch families at every stage, contributing to positive birth experiences, strong maternal‑child health outcomes, and a supportive care environment that recognizes every milestone as a team achievement. And for those who crave broader horizons, the program offers opportunities to illuminate your practice across diverse settings nationwide, exposing you to varied birthing practices, patient populations, and hospital cultures, all while staying grounded in the mission to empower families during one of life’s most meaningful events.

Massachusetts holds a special place in many hearts, and Pittsfield sits at the heart of the Berkshire region, where outdoor beauty meets cultural richness. Picture easy access to hiking in the Taconic and Appalachian ranges, serene lakes and rivers, and the region’s celebrated fall foliage. The Berkshires blend small‑town charm with world‑class arts venues, farmers’ markets, and family‑oriented recreation, offering a high quality of life that complements the rewards of clinical excellence. The state’s historic towns, scenic byways, and vibrant communities create a backdrop that makes after‑shift moments and weekend explorations truly enriching. For clinicians who enjoy expanding their professional horizons, there are also pathways to assignments at partner facilities across the United States, delivering exposure to diverse maternity units, patient needs, and operational models—enriching your experience while you grow your professional network and resume.

Location benefits extend beyond Pittsfield. In your home base, you’ll experience a collaborative hospital culture that prioritizes patient safety, staff development, and family‑centered maternity care. Pittsfield and the surrounding Berkshires offer a welcoming, supportive community with collegial teams, mentoring, and opportunities to engage in quality improvement initiatives. For travelers seeking broader experiences, the program welcomes placements at facilities across the country, allowing you to rotate through Level II and Level III obstetric units, high‑risk obstetric care, teaching hospitals, and community birthing centers. You’ll gain exposure to a spectrum of protocols, equipment, and interdisciplinary collaboration, all while enjoying the advantages of regional living—from accessible outdoor recreation to cultural celebrations and the comfortable rhythm of a family‑friendly environment.

In this role, your responsibilities reflect the core of perinatal nursing practice and the chance for meaningful professional growth. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor fetal status with vigilance, manage labor progression, administer medications, coordinate pain relief, assist with cesarean and instrumental deliveries, and provide postpartum and newborn care. Your communication with patients and families will blend clinical guidance with empathetic education on breastfeeding, newborn care, red flags, and discharge planning. You will actively participate in safety drills, participate in rapid response or code situations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve patient experiences and outcomes. The position supports your growth in perinatal nursing specialties, with pathways to certifications, leadership roles, and enhanced clinical competencies, enabling you to advance your career while maintaining expert, compassionate bedside care. Financially, this opportunity provides competitive weekly pay of $2,377–$2,592, recognizing your expertise and the elevated responsibilities of labor and delivery care. The contract starts on 12/29/2025 and extends for a number of weeks, with guaranteed hours listed as 0.0, reflecting scheduling based on assignment needs. In addition to the base compensation, you may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities that let you stay longer in a preferred setting. A robust support network is in place, including 24/7 assistance from our travel team to help with onboarding, housing, scheduling, and clinical resources, ensuring you are never alone on a shifting, high‑acuity floor.

Our company values a workforce that feels empowered to shape its own growth. We are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where nurses are encouraged to advance their careers, pursue specialty certifications, and take on leadership or mentorship roles as they evolve. You’ll find a culture that prioritizes professional development, collaborative problem solving, and the well‑being of every team member, recognizing that strong, supported clinicians deliver the best patient care. Regular feedback, access to continuing education resources, and structured pathways to expand your practice underpin our mission to empower staff and cultivate resilience, expertise, and joy in perinatal nursing.

If you’re driven by the opportunity to deliver exceptional labor and delivery care, to learn from diverse settings, and to grow within a supportive company that values you as a clinician and as a professional, this is your invitation. Apply now to join a team that recognizes your contribution, invests in your development, and shares your commitment to compassionate, high‑quality maternity care. Please note: the hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
