Job Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to resolve application issues and identify business needs throughout the project life cycle
• Architect, design, code, and test software applications using RPG and SQL
• Ensure program and application integrity through various testing phases
• Document system architecture for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Lead a small technical team and conduct code reviews for database and logic changes

Qualifications

• 20+ years of proven experience with the IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) platform
• Mastery of various forms of RPG, especially RPGLE, including Free-form syntax and embedded SQL
• Expert-level DB2 application programming and database design skills
• Deep understanding of ILE concepts, including Modules and Service Programs
• Experience with structured deployment and version control processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with major IBM i ERP systems such as Infor LX, BPCS, or JDE
• Familiarity with distribution, manufacturing, finance, and insurance applications
• Experience with RDi (Rational Developer for i) or Eclipse-based IDEs
• Familiarity with Git or SVN in an IBM i environment
• Experience with integration solutions using APIs, JSON, and XML
