Data Integrity/Clinical Trial Billing Specialist
Overview
The Data Integrity / Clinical Trials Billing Specialist performs charge validation through account review in a timely and billing compliant manner.
The Data Integrity / Clinical Trials Billing Specialist will develop a mastery of the Institute’s Accounts Receivable (AR) and Clinical Trials Management (CTM) systems, while interacting with a myriad of inter- and intra-departmental staff. These resources will support their decision making.

The selected candidate must live and work from one of the New England states (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT)
Responsibilities
- Monitor and resolve charging issues within Account, Claim Edit, Router, and Interface work queues of the Accounts Receivable system as well as investigate root cause of any issues.
- Monitor and resolve requests received through departmental e-mail boxes.
- Perform detailed analyses of clinical trials accounts using multiple systems and resources to guide decision making.
- Interact interdepartmentally with research study teams, Clinical Trials Business Office (CTBO), and charge interface/operations staff of both DFCI and regional/affiliated locations.
- Provide feedback on processes and workflows to identify deficiency and improvement opportunities.
- Provide assistance in resolving patient inquiries related to services billed for both clinical care and research participation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Experience :
2 years of accounts receivable management or clinical research billing experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, research studies and research study insurance billing.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and analytic skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assigned accounts daily.
- Ability to apply billing requirements/regulations to the clinical care and research patient charge review workflows.
- Ability to concisely communicate questions and/or issues with work processes within the department.
- Ability and desire to learn new software and processes associated with remote work.
- Ability to excel in a team environment along with the ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively.
