We are seeking a growth-minded Chef Manager to lead both the culinary and food service operations at one of our dynamic locations. We are looking for a candidate with a culinary degree and a strong foundation in foodservice management. This role is ideal for someone who may be a recent graduate from a respected culinary program, such as Johnson & Wales University , and is eager to grow into a leadership position. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership potential, professional stability, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for culinary operations and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily culinary and food service operation while ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage all aspects of inventory, ordering, receiving, and product utilization.
  • Develop menus while maintaining food quality, consistency, and creativity.
  • Control food and labor costs through effective purchasing, forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop culinary team members while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Execute high-quality food presentation and support exposition cooking during service.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by sourcing and utilizing local food products whenever possible.
  • Understand financial performance and contribute to achieving budgeted P&L goals within a contract-managed foodservice environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree from an accredited culinary institution.
  • 3-5 years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, hospitality, or high-volume restaurant operations. Candidates with exceptional leadership potential and a strong culinary education are encouraged to apply.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations.
  • Experience with menu development, purchasing, inventory management, food costing, and labor controls.
  • Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed foodservice operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of current food, catering, and hospitality trends with an emphasis on quality, presentation, sanitation, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with exposition cooking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain certification within 60-90 days of hire.
