Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team as a contract worker. The ideal candidate will have 1.5-4 years of experience in structural engineering, with a preference for candidates who hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. If you have a background in wood-design and live in the Massachusetts area, specifically in the South Shore or Boston region, we want to hear from you. Inspection experience is a bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide structural designs, calculations, and markups for various projects.
- Prepare detailed plans and sketches in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure the successful execution of structural designs.
- Review and analyze project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to address project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 1.5-4 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
- Preferably holds a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Strong knowledge of wood-design principles.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and AutoCAD or PDF Editors such as Bluebeam to provide markups of details for our drafters.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines.
- Inspection experience is a plus.
