Position OverviewThe Bridge Assistant Superintendent will support the project management team in overseeing bridge construction projects. This role focuses on ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to safety regulations and best practices in the industry. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in managing daily operations on the construction site
- Coordinate and supervise labor and equipment for bridge construction activities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and assist in maintaining project schedules
- Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Assist in managing project financials, including tracking costs and budgets
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
- Support the Superintendent in training and mentoring junior staff
- Proven experience in heavy civil construction, specifically in bridge construction
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Familiarity with DOT and MassDot standards
- Experience with pile driving and drilled shafts
- Understanding of structural steel work
- Ability to implement traffic control measures
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment controls and NPDES requirements
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
