Title: Student Financial Services Representative

Reports To: Assistant Director RCC Solutions Center

Summary of Position:

The Student Financial Services Representative serves as a key point of contact for students, families, and internal staff on all matters related to billing, payments and student accounts. The role helps ensure clarity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial transactions so that students can understand and meet their financial obligations and access any financial aid or assistance for which they qualify. The role currently resides in RCC Connect, our one stop shop solution. As the Representative, you will:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries (in person, by phone, via email) from students, parents or guardians about tuition, fees, payment procedures, billing cycles, and refund policies.
  • Review student accounts for accuracy: post charges, payments, refunds, and adjustments.
  • Set up payment plans or deferred payment agreements per college policy.
  • Assist in the verification of documentation (tax forms, FAFSA, etc.), following regulations.
  • Coordinate with related departments (Financial Aid Office, Registrar, Business Office) to ensure alignment and avoid delays.
  • Handle delinquent accounts: notify students of past due balances; follow up and escalate appropriately.
  • Generate student billing statements, issue notices, prepare required reports.
  • Process refunds, third-party billing (if applicable), and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional policies (including Title IV, state financial aid rules).
  • Maintain accurate records in student information systems.
  • Participate in outreach or information sessions to help students understand financial obligations and resources.
  • Maintain compliance with FERPA and Federal/State regulations
  • Keep updated on changes in federal/state financial aid / billing regulations and advising students accordingly.

Requirements:

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Higher Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service or student services environment.
  • Some experience working with student billing, financial aid, or student accounts preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills?able to explain financial concepts clearly.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks / deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office applications (Microsoft Office, especially Excel).

Preferred :

  • Prior experience in higher education financial services / student accounts / bursar office.
  • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g. Jenzabar), financial aid software (PowerFAIDS).
  • Understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations (Title IV, Mass. state aid programs).
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Compensation: $66,350-68,000
