Job Title: Microelectronics Assembler

Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity as a Microelectronics Assembler in Chelmsford, MA. You will work in a hands-on production environment assembling and testing advanced electronic products and systems. The position is ideal for individuals with a strong attention to detail, an interest in electronics, and a desire to grow their skills in microelectronics assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products by following detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.

  • Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to ensure all assemblies meet established quality requirements.

  • Read, interpret, and follow assembly process documents and work instructions accurately and consistently.

  • Handle and assemble components ranging from microscopic to larger parts, using visual magnification when necessary.

  • Operate various hand tools, including tweezers, rulers, cutters, and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers and screwdrivers, in a safe and precise manner.

  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry related to production processes, including recording work performed and test results in digital systems.

  • Collaborate with team members to support throughput, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to a culture of quality and efficiency.

  • Follow established ESD procedures and safe handling practices for electronic components and equipment.

  • Adhere to all company policies, security requirements, and quality standards, including those related to interim clearance and background screening.

Essential Skills

  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate digital systems for timekeeping, viewing work instructions, and confirming task completion.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Knowledge of electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures and familiarity with electronic test equipment.

  • Strong work ethic with a proven record of punctuality, reliability, and a desire to grow and learn in the role.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an interim security clearance, including successful completion of required drug and background checks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical and/or microelectronics assembly is preferred.

  • Prior experience working with microscopes, magnification tools, and precision instruments in an electronics manufacturing environment is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and collaborating in a team-oriented production setting is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position is based in Chelmsford, MA in a production environment focused on advanced electronic and microelectronic assemblies. You will regularly use microscopes, visual magnification devices, electronic test equipment, hand tools, and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers and screwdrivers. The role involves working at benches or workstations, handling small components, and following ESD-safe practices. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement, offering exposure to cutting-edge defense-related technologies and the opportunity to develop valuable microelectronics skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
