The Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Accountant is a member of the School’s Business Office department and reports to the Controller. This full-time, 12-month position is a key contributor in the proper accounting and reporting for the School and supporting the financial needs of the Park community. The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative, self-directed work and will serve as a welcoming presence in the Business Office.
Responsibilities
- Manages the school's accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Works collaboratively to prepare invoices and billing for over 500 students.
- Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable and receivable ledgers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments.
- Monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers to the school collection policies and protocols.
- Manages schools Corpay invoice process.
- Collaborate with the External Program directors to reconcile summer and rental program receivables.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations pertaining to A/R & A/P, and assist with the monthly close process.
- Assist the Controller with all audits and/or tax forms, as requested.
- Seek and obtain relevant professional development for the position on an ongoing basis.
- As needed, support the Business Office team with its continuing responsibilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant nonprofit accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Blackbaud (Financial Edge NXT), Veracross or similar accounting and billing software.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrated experience in a culturally diverse community including diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, language, family structure, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
- The ability to occasionally actively move about the office to access file cabinets and necessary supplies.
- The ability to consistently operate a computer. Proficient or the ability to quickly learn Google tools and other school softwares.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- The ability to deploy situational awareness to preserve the safety of students and community members.
- The ability to think independently and collaborate in a team environment.
- The ability to maintain focus in an energetic and, at times, loud environment.

- The compensation range for this role is 85,000 to 95,000 annually. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to, external market data, internal equity, skillset, experience, and/or performance, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive compensation details, inclusive of any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
