First Grade Teacher in the Beautiful Berkshires- 2026-27

1st Grade Class Teacher Fall 2026

Berkshire Waldorf School is seeking a full time First Grade class teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Ideally, candidates would have Waldorf teaching experience. Effective classroom management, communication, and the ability to collaborate are priorities. Classroom support and mentoring will be provided.

Essential Job Duties

• Teach a class of 12-15 1st grade students.
• Lead the first grade curriculum in accordance with Waldorf Standards
• Prepare lesson plans, student work, assessments, and reports according to BWS standards.
• Cultivate joy, wonder, and curiosity in the classroom, fostering a positive relationship to learning.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors Degree
• Waldorf Teacher Certificate and/or enrollment in a Waldorf accredited training program
• Minimum of three years paid experience in an accredited primary school, preferred

Salary: This position has a base salary of $45,000 with increases dependent on experience.
