At Cooperative for Human Services Inc. (CHS), we are dedicated to building inclusive, person-centered communities where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live self-directed, meaningful lives. We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Director to oversee daily operations of one of our residential programs. This is a dynamic leadership role ideal for someone who is passionate about advocacy, team development, and program excellence.
- Oversee the full operation of a residential program, including staff management, service quality, and support planning.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff , including Assistant Program Directors and Direct Support Workers.
- Actively advocate for individuals and ensure their rights, dignity, and personal goals are honored.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and program documentation in accordance with CHS policies and state/federal regulations (DDS, DPPC, OIG).
- Participate in ISP development and ensure individualized goals are implemented and achieved.
- Provide at least 16 hours per week of direct support , modeling best practices and engaging with individuals.
- Ensure fiscal accountability , including managing individual and program budgets.
- Coordinate medication administration , healthcare, and wellness supports in alignment with safety protocols.
- Foster community inclusion , expanding social networks and opportunities for the people we serve.
- Provide on-call support and crisis management as needed.

- Associate’s degree in a related human service field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in social services or human services; 1 year of supervisory or management experience required.
- Alternatively: High School Diploma with 4 years of experience in developmental disability services.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license (MA, NH, RI) and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and meet the physical demands of the position.
