Job Description
This role involves operating and setting up production machinery on a large manufacturing floor, with a focus on safe, efficient, and high-quality output. You will train on 1st shift before moving to a permanent 2nd or 3rd shift assignment, working with detailed drawings and blueprints to produce and inspect finished products. The position offers strong training, structured performance reviews, and clear pathways for growth within a stable production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate production machinery in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and blueprints.
- Machine parts and components to specification and perform final inspection on finished products to ensure quality standards.
- Make adjustments to machinery, including heights, speeds, and feeds, to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend machine life.
- Obtain and stage raw materials prior to starting jobs to ensure smooth workflow.
- Organize finished product into correct areas, maintaining clear labeling and proper inventory flow.
- Follow all safety procedures on the manufacturing floor, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Complete required documentation and quality checks accurately and on time.
- Participate in training and cross-training activities to expand skills and support production needs across shifts.
Essential Skills
- Experience in machine operating or higher-level assembly work in a production or fabrication environment.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting production machinery and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ability to set up machinery, including adjusting heights, speeds, and feeds based on job requirements.
- Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, or similar technical documents to produce parts to specification.
- Capability to perform quality checks and final inspections on machined products.
- Physical ability to safely lift and move up to 45 pounds as part of daily duties.
- Comfort working on 2nd or 3rd shift after completing training on 1st shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and following established processes and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a fabrication shop environment.
- Experience in the automotive industry beyond basic oil change work.
- Exposure to production environments with unionized workforces.
- Familiarity with large-scale manufacturing operations and production lines.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, while not required.
- Openness to structured performance reviews and career development opportunities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.29 - $24.29/hr.
