Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a member of a cross functional team working on projects that support some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will perform complex mechanical design and development in such areas as cabinets, consoles, electronic enclosures, sensors, and integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) electronic equipment. They will support the build, test, and qualification of mechanical components and assemblies. They will also help document all design solutions and changes as required per American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and military standards.

• 3D CAD experience (Pro/E CREO)
• Structural analysis: including FEA (Finite Element Analysis, ANSYS preferred)
• Thermal Analysis (ANSYS IcePAK)
• Design of Mechanical Hardware Structures and for Electronics
• Vibration Isolation
• Technical drawing knowledge: drawing standards, tolerancing, GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Cable and Harness Design
• Provide mentoring
• Design for Manufacturability
• Design for Assembly

Workplace Options:

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range

USD $83,721.00 - USD $92,878.00 /Yr.
