In this role, you will be responsible for verifying medication orders, preparing pharmaceuticals for distribution, and providing essential drug-related education to healthcare staff and patients. You'll also be expected to stay up-to-date on automated medication dispensing systems and ensure compliance with relevant protocols and procedures.
This part-time opportunity offers 32 hours per week across variable shifts , including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify and prepare medications for patients, clinics, and employees.
  • Dispense pharmaceuticals following clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff, patients, and families.
  • Utilize and monitor automated medication dispensing systems.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies at all times.
  • Supervise support personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current Massachusetts Pharmacist License (MAPHARM).
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with unit dose dispensing, IV admixture, and chemotherapy preparation is advantageous.
    • Must be comfortable using pharmacy-related computer systems.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Leadership qualities for overseeing support staff.

Quality – Exceed average patient satisfaction scores of x.x/50. Adhere to all CMS and joint commission standards. Deploy outcome-based practice methodologies and best practice treatment plans from corporate on schedule and actively share best practices with other of the Organizations sites.

Marketing/ Community engagement – Exceed referral satisfaction averages of x.x/x.x. Build deep understanding of local market and competitive environments to inform focus on critical touchpoints along the patient journey to increase likelihood they are able to access treatment needed at Organizations clinics
