Summary: Responsible for preparing food, in the kitchen, and cooking a variety of dishes. Requires a high level of familiarity with cooking skills and techniques, the ability to season and prepare food according to the recipes, and the ability to work under pressure to ensure that appetizers, entrees, and desserts arrive on time.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum one-year experience food preparation in a cafeteria setting.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Food Handler Card by the Department of Public Health required. Must be obtained from a Riverside County approved program.

Essential Functions:

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Note: (other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing).

1.Must have ability to prepare food safely and in accordance with all applicable governing laws associated with food service operations.2.Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations.
3.Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
4.Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift.
5.Handling multiple food orders at one time.
6.Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
7.Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides.
8.Storing all food properly.
9.Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils.
10.Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
11.Be available to work evenings and weekends, when and where needed.
