JOB SUMMARY: Therapeutic Mentor is a service provided by a qualified paraprofessional working under a clinicians supervision to support the implementation of the Master level clinicians treatment plan to assist the youth and family in achieving the goals of that plan. The paraprofessional assists the Clinician in implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan designed to address the youths mental health, behavioral and emotional needs. This service includes teaching the child to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations and assisting the family in addressing the youths emotional and mental health needs. Telephone and consultation are provided as part of the intervention.

Essential Functions of Position:
Work collaboratively with the assigned Clinician as a team to ensure the implementation of the goals and objectives identified in the treatment plan
Advocate for and access resources to address the youths emotional and mental health needs
Interact with agencies such as (DMH, DCF, DYS, DPH, MCI, etc...) to support services/care planning and coordination on behalf of and with the youth and parent/caregiver.
If the youth is enrolled in Intensive Care Coordination, participate in all care planning meetings and processes.
Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry assignments promptly.
Respond to client emergencies as needed
Maintain contact with the site by checking voicemail and emails daily
Keep supervisor informed of progress on all cases
Adhere to provisions of M.G.L Chapter 119, Section 51A (Mandated Reporter); report all occurrences immediately to the clinic.
Adhere to clinical recommendations from clinical administration
Maintain confidentiality in all clinical matters. Adhere to HIPAA standards and regulations.
Remain compliant with billing, documentation, and minimum service delivery to substantiate each billable unit.

Personal Characteristics:
Ability to communicate effectively in a community-based environment
Must be highly motivated and self-directed
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must possess knowledge of child development; including physical, mental, emotional
Must have Clinical and Psychiatric knowledge; must have Cultural and Linguistic Competence;
Must be computer literate; attention to detail and organizational skills are critical (Experience with Google Workspace is a plus)
Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills, willingness to work directly with clients and colleagues
Excellent time management and organizational skills

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related field. CANS certification is preferred. It may be obtained through online training. Flexible schedule. Valid Drivers License, safe driving record, and access to a personal vehicle for transportation to the client's residence. Being bilingual is a plus.
