Release Train Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Release Train Engineer in Boston, MA. Overview: The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the chief Scrum Master for the Agile Release Train (ART) and is responsible for enabling predictable, high-quality delivery of IT initiatives across enterprise platforms, applications, data, cybersecurity, and digital transformation programs around Electric Business. In an IT-focused utility environment, the RTE ensures alignment between business priorities, technology architecture, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance while maintaining system stability and service reliability. Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and lead Program Increment (PI) Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt events
• Align IT delivery with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture
• Track PI objectives, features, dependencies, and risks across application, data, and infrastructure teams
• Coordinate ART backlog readiness with Product Managers and Product Owners
• Manage IT release schedules, change windows, and blackout periods
• Ensure traceability from regulatory or compliance requirements to delivered IT solutions
• Support audits by maintaining delivery evidence, documentation, and controls
• Provide transparency through dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting
• Drive continuous improvement, flow optimization, and defect reduction across the ART
• Identify and remove systemic impediments impacting IT delivery
• Coordinate with Change Management and CAB to ensure safe, compliant IT releases

• Proven experience as an RTE, Senior Scrum Master, or IT Delivery Lead
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, cloud platforms, data, and cybersecurity
• Strong expertise in SAFex and Agile delivery frameworks
• Excellent leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• SAFe RTE, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification preferred
