Senior Technical Recruiter

Str
Woburn, MA

STR is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to drive full lifecycle recruiting for a portfolio of complex technical roles supporting our defense and national security mission. This is a senior individual contributor role designed for an experienced recruiting professional who thrives in a fast-paced hiring environment and brings deep expertise recruiting for both cleared and uncleared technical talent as well as for non-technical positions. In this role, you will partner closely with hiring managers, technical leaders, and HR to deliver high-quality hiring outcomes across difficult-to-fill domains such as cyber, data analytics, sensors, radar, RF, software, and systems engineering. You will serve as a trusted advisor on talent availability, market dynamics, and hiring strategy while ensuring a professional, engaging, and compliant candidate experience. This position does not include people management but offers significant ownership, autonomy, and impact.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Full Lifecycle Technical Recruiting - Own the end-to-end recruiting process for assigned requisitions, from intake and sourcing through offer acceptance. Manage a mix of cleared and uncleared roles, ensuring hiring plans align with technical requirements, clearance constraints, and business priorities.

  • Strategic Sourcing & Pipeline Development - Develop and execute advanced sourcing strategies to identify high-caliber technical candidates, including direct outreach, referrals, niche job boards, and targeted searches. Build and maintain pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill skill areas to support both immediate and future hiring needs.

  • Hiring Manager Partnership - Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to understand mission needs and technical depth required. Provide clear guidance on labor market conditions, candidate availability, compensation expectations, and realistic timelines.

  • Candidate Engagement & Experience - Act as a primary ambassador for STR’s culture and mission. Engage candidates with transparency and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience from initial contact through onboarding. Communicate effectively with candidates throughout the process and manage expectations with care.

  • Offer Management & Closing - Lead the offer process, including preparing offers, coordinating approvals, negotiating compensation, and closing candidates. Navigate competing offers and clearance-related complexities while balancing candidate needs with internal equity and business requirements.

  • Interview Process & ATS Excellence - Utilize Greenhouse and Outlook to coordinate interviews, collect feedback, and maintain accurate documentation. Ensure interview processes are efficient, well-structured, and candidate-centric while meeting internal standards.

  • Compliance & Process Integrity - Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies, OFCCP requirements, and applicable federal contractor regulations. Maintain audit-ready documentation and effectively influence hiring managers regarding their compliance responsibilities.

  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement - Collaborate with HR teammates and fellow recruiters to share best practices, improve recruiting workflows, and enhance overall hiring effectiveness. Contribute to process improvements that strengthen candidate quality, speed, and experience.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable managing multiple complex requisitions simultaneously
