Compensation Consultant

Location: Boston, MA

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week)
We are seeking an experienced Compensation Consultant to join a leading organization in Boston. In this role, you will play a key part in administering and enhancing compensation programs, conducting market analysis and job evaluations, and ensuring pay equity across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in compensation consulting within a highly regulated industry.

This is a 5+ month contract opportunity that will pay $50-$60/hour (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs and processes.
• Conduct market pricing and benchmarking using survey data to inform compensation decisions.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations on salary structures, bonuses, and incentive plans.
• Analyze market and internal data to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
• Prepare detailed compensation reports and analyses to support leadership decision-making.
• Lead or contribute to equity reviews, job evaluations, and annual merit/incentive planning.
• Partner with HR and business leaders to align compensation strategies with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with HR reporting teams to maintain data accuracy within HRIS systems.
• Participate in compensation-related projects and initiatives as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 6–8+ years of compensation experience, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
• Proven experience managing base salary structures and incentive compensation programs.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
• Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
• Strong knowledge of compensation laws and regulations, including the FLSA.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze complex data, and solve problems effectively.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
