Philanthropy Program Officer, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
Overview
The Philanthropy Program Officer is responsible for stewarding and growing a portfolio of participants across the Jimmy Fund’s peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising events, including the Jimmy Fund Walk for Dana-Farber and Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge. This role focuses on relationship management, participant retention, revenue growth, and delivering an exceptional donor experience.
This position's work location is fully remote with occasional time on-campus in Brookline, MA. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI). Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Event and Program Management: Coordinate the planning, logistics, and execution of fundraising events and programs, including recruitment, stewardship, and event-related communications to ensure successful outcomes.
- Donor Engagement and Stewardship: Cultivate and steward relationships with donors and event participants, providing personalized communication, managing recognition programs, and implementing strategies to enhance donor satisfaction and participation.
- Operational and Administrative Support: Perform tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining databases, organizing event-related documents, and supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Data Management and Reporting: Collect, track, and analyze data related to events, donor activities, and fundraising outcomes, preparing reports to provide insights and inform strategic decision-making.
- Recognition Program Oversight: Manage donor recognition initiatives, including maintaining inventories, coordinating signage and displays, and overseeing recognition gift programs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and stakeholders to support various aspects of event planning, donor engagement, and program execution, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Special Projects and Campus Engagement: Support additional initiatives such as campus tours, patient partner programs, and other duties as assigned to enhance donor experiences and organizational goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread, present information clearly, and engage in public speaking when needed.
- Interpersonal Skills: ability to interact professionally and confidentially with a variety of constituencies, including donors, volunteers, and organizational staff in a variety of settings such as one-on-one donor visits or solicitations.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
- Judgment and Discretion: Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act with discretion in sensitive situations.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with donor databases or other constituent management systems.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment while supporting shared goals.

High School or equivalent. 2 years of relevant work experience required

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
