• Job Title: Pediatric Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse (PICU RN)
• Location: Boston, MA 02115 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma, Level III/IV NICU hospital
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/28/2025 – End: 12/28/2025)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts/week; rotating days (07:00–19:00) and nights (19:00–07:00); straight nights available
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 3 of 6 weekends per contract
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2470–$2540
• Charting System: EPIC
• Parking: Free for night shift; discounted day passes with shuttle service

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (PERM license required)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience (PICU, CVICU, CICU, or pediatric step-down units)
• Experience providing pre- and post-operative care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease (CHD)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Ability to float to other critical care units (MSICU, MICU, NICU, ACCU) as needed
• Professional references from 2 of the last 3 healthcare employers (different facilities)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease
• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other pediatric and adult critical care units (MSICU, MICU, NICU, ACCU) as required
• Participate in weekend and rotating shift coverage as scheduled
