About the Opportunity
We’re looking for an Enterprise Account Executive (AE) with a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. The Enterprise AE will take full ownership of the end-to-end sales cycle for large government entities, leading complex, long-cycle evaluations from initial discovery through contract execution.
In this role, you’ll act as the lead strategist for your territory—partnering closely with Sales Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to coordinate resources, deliver compelling vision sessions and product demonstrations, and position ClearGov as the trusted partner for budgeting & planning, financial disclosure and reporting, and transparency.
The Enterprise AE will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with senior government leaders—including Finance Directors, City Managers, and technical stakeholders—while driving multi-threaded sales strategies, navigating complex procurement and RFP processes, and maintaining a disciplined, accurate pipeline in Salesforce to support ClearGov’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the end-to-end sales cycle for large government entities, managing every stage of the evaluation process with precision.
- Serve as the lead strategist for your territory, coordinating internal resources and pre-sales teams to win high-value accounts.
- Use a consultative approach to identify deep operational challenges and position ClearGov as the primary partner for budgeting & planning, financial disclosure and reporting, and transparency.
- Lead high-level vision sessions and product demonstrations that align our solutions with the long-term goals of senior government executives.
- Execute a multi-threaded sales strategy by identifying, engaging, and building consensus among multiple stakeholders across various departments.
- Drive the evaluation process forward by setting clear timelines, managing expectations, and overcoming hurdles within complex government procurement cycles.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with influential leaders, from Finance Directors and City Managers to technical department heads.
- Manage a disciplined and accurate pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring all activity and forecasting are transparent and up to date.
- Partner with Marketing to lead regional strategies and represent ClearGov at key industry events to build a strong network of referenceable customers.
Critical Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with a proven history of managing long-cycle, high-value deals.
- Demonstrated ability to take control of a complex sales process and guide multiple stakeholders toward a unified decision.
- Strong consultative skills, with the ability to ask the right questions to uncover organizational needs and provide expert guidance.
- Deep understanding of public sector operations, specifically how large counties, municipalities, and agencies handle budgeting and financial reporting, and communicating with their constituents
- Exceptional communication skills, with the comfort level to present to and influence C-suite executives and elected officials.
- A strategic mindset with experience in account planning and territory management to maximize long-term growth.
- Experience navigating the formal RFP process and negotiating complex contracts within the public sector.
- Advanced proficiency in using Salesforce to manage a complex territory and maintain data integrity.
- A self-motivated, "results-driven" approach with the ability to work effectively in a remote, high-growth environment
- Preferred: Ability to work at least one day per week hybrid in-office in one of the following cities:
- Boston, MA
- Tampa, FL
- Kansas City, KS or MO
- Phoenix, AZ

Compensation:
- In the spirit of transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 USD exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. In addition to your base salary, this position has an uncapped variable first year target range of $200,000 - $260,000 USD. If you are hired at ClearGov, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, interview performance, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring beyond the base range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
