Job Description

Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have the testing and software QA skills necessary to develop detailed test plans, quickly create and execute manual and automated test cases. The position demands good communication both orally and written and good time management skills in order to help meet internal and external project milestones. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the testing effort for a component or feature of a product. • Create and maintain test cases, test plans, test metrics, defect metrics; • Perform tool development and test case automation • Isolate defects effectively and provide specific conditions for reproducibility • Work with individual developers to technically understand the testing necessities of a component • Set up test environment either on premise or in the cloud. • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced QA engineers

Qualifications

Qualifications Required: • 8+ years’ experience in the software quality assurance or software development. • Working experience with the Linux Operating System. • Good understanding of the networking concepts and protocols TCPIP, DNS, routes, etc… • Experience with automation and test tool development using Python • Experience with UI automation using Selenium web driver • Experience testing client / server applications. • White box software testing experience. • Experience working in an agile team meeting sprint deliverables • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • You must be action-oriented, have the ability to learn new technologies and quickly put them in action. • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Desired: • Experience working with databases (MySQL and Oracle). • Java development experience (Nice to have) • Mobile testing experience a big plus. Symantec is an equal opportunity employer
