We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is integral to managing the company’s financial operations and supporting continued growth. Relocation opportunities Job Details Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits.
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Allocate insurance costs to various projects and departments.
- Track notices to owner (nto) for all projects.
- Prepare tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement improvements to the month-end process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables) and accounting software (QuickBooks Online ERP, Acumatica ERP).
- Experience with bank and GL reconciliations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Familiarity with insurance allocation and nto tracking.
- Experience with accounts receivable and payable.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
