Senior Accountant
KBW is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a Boston area client. This is an interim contract engagement focused on the GL and close activities - starting immediately.
Pay Rate: $40-60 /hour
Contract - 40 hours weekly
Hybrid - 2 days per week in office
Overview
A fast-growing, innovation-driven product company with a global footprint and high-volume operations is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to support its expanding accounting team. This is a contract role with potential for long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support general ledger (GL) activities and operational expense (OPEX) tracking
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Manage accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Experience reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis (will prep as well but heavier on the review side)
- GAAP experience
- Support SOX compliance and internal controls
- Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience preferred; consumer goods experience a plus
- Familiarity with Oracle and advanced Excel skills a plus
- Exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is a plus
- Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and SOX controls
