Staff Accountant
- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for 3 separate organizations;
- Complete accounts payable process through weekly check processing;
- Process weekly payrolls and all associated reports, filings and documents;
- Maintain various payroll-related reports including Paid Time Off tracking, tax funding, 401(k) funding, Certified Payroll reporting, audits and other reports as required;
- Verify monthly sales commissions;
- Post and reconcile bank deposits, ACH and credit card payments;
- Record financial transactions via journal entries and assist in the management of the month-end close process;
- Assist in completion of special projects;
- Multi-State Sales and Use tax return preparations;
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related studies, preferred or equivalent related experience;
- 3-5 years' experience in an accounting/finance function, preferably in construction or manufacturing;
- Extensive knowledge of payroll and accounts payable functions including balancing of accounts, internal controls. Experience with prevailing wage payroll strongly preferred;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information;
- Proven track record of proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects;
- Team player and with strong interpersonal skills;
- Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature.
- Extensive sitting, standing, bending, standing, walking are all expected activities. Ability to lift more than 25 lbs. on occasion.
