CNC Turning Setup Machinist (Light Programming)
Role Overview
Picture your day: you clock in at 6:00 a.m., open the job traveler, and prep a CNC lathe for a tight‑tolerance turned part. You choose the right tooling, set offsets, verify the program, and run a first article. With micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators in hand, you confirm dimensions and fine‑tune as needed. If a small tweak in code helps repeatability, you make it—then document results so the run flows smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components.
- Perform first‑article inspections to validate dimensional accuracy and process capability.
- Troubleshoot machining and minor programming issues to lock in repeatable outcomes.
- Hold tight tolerances with consistent process control.
- Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators for in‑process and final checks.
- Accurately complete job travelers, machine logs, and inspection reports.
Your Background
- 5+ years of hands‑on CNC lathe experience (setups and production).
- Proficiency with tooling selection, setup, and standard inspection equipment.
- Light programming/G‑code edits are a plus.
- Experience with multi‑axis or live‑tool lathes is a bonus.
Schedule & Pay
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: $35.00 per hour, based on experience.
